The Universidad del Cine, known in the media as FUC, is a privately managed national university created in 1991. For 30 years, its primary mission has been to provide the highest academic and technological level in the areas of cinema, video, visual arts, visual communication and also teacher training in each of these disciplines, in a global framework of humanistic training within which art, literature, universal culture and knowledge of other languages ​​are as important as specific technical knowledge. In short, it is a meeting point for young people with an audiovisual vocation. At the same time, an area of ​​learning and research, a center for the production of feature films and short films. In addition to its educational work, the Universidad del Cine promotes the permanent and stable relationship of its Students with national and foreign directors, screenwriters, actors, technicians, critics and film analysts. The Universidad del Cine also makes it possible for its teachers and students to attend international film festivals and has reciprocal cooperation agreements with foreign educational institutions and universities with the purpose of increasing exchange and deepening educational actions in a field in which the international is a primary feature. The Universidad del Cine prioritized film education and introduced new forms of production, allowing cost reduction and thus making possible the materialization of projects that otherwise would not have been possible. He currently produces and co-produces with his students one hundred and fifty short films and twelve feature films annually. Throughout its thirty years of existence, the Universidad del Cine has trained a large part of the new generation of Argentine cinema and many internationally recognized professionals have emerged from its classrooms, such as Damián Szifrón, Pablo Trapero, Ana Katz, Ariel Winograd, Juan Taratuto , Paula Hernández, Juan Villegas, Andy Muschietti, Celina Murga, Albertina Carri, Alejandro Fadel, Santiago Mitre, Lisandro Alonso, Rodrigo Moreno, Ulises Rosell, Mariano Llinás, Matías Piñeiro, Alejo Moguillansky, Hernán Musaluppi, among many others.
