The Barceló Foundation is a private university higher education institution, part of the National University System and created by the "Héctor Alejandro Barceló Foundation for the development of Argentine Biomedical Science", a non-profit entity, with legal status and registered in the Registry. National Entities of Public Welfare. On March 27, 1991, the Héctor Alejandro Barceló Foundation for the development of Argentine Biomedical Science obtained its legal status through Resolution No. 341 of the General Inspectorate of Justice, setting as its objective the development of university education, science, research and health promotion in the community. On June 26, 1992, theUniversity Institute of Health Sciences begins its activities in the City of Buenos Aires through Resolution 1247/92 of the Ministry of Culture and Education of the Argentine Republic. Complying with the requirements set forth by the Higher Education Law No. 24,521 and the quality standards established by the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU), on July 25, 2007, it received definitive recognition from the National Executive Power through decree No. 977. The Barceló Foundation is dedicated exclusively to the teaching of Health Sciences, with teachers who are committed and consistent with the current paradigms of medical education and with an adequate level of training that enables them to operate as agents of change. It has undergraduate and postgraduate courses authorized by the Ministry of Education and accredited by the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU); it also incorporates continuing professional training courses and programs, promoting permanent training and improvement. The Barceló Foundation upholds a vision that emphasizes the regional development aspect of education. For this reason, it has created and fully manages a network of high-level health training centers, with offices in the City of Buenos Aires , in the city of La Rioja (Northwest Argentina), and in the City of Santo Tomé.(northeast Argentina). Through this structure, the Barceló Foundation is responsible for a "Health Sciences training system" that encompasses three locations located in territories with markedly diverse characteristics in terms of health, social, environmental and cultural conditions.
