The Oran1 University is a university Algerian located in Oran . In the past, bearing the name of the University of Oran Es-Sénia, it was created as an annex to university education in November 1961 and then attached to the University of Algiers on April 13 , 1965 . It becomes the first Algerian university founded after independence on December 20, 1967. The University of Oran was one of the most important and largest universities in Algeria, which each year graduates thousands of students in all disciplines: sciences, techniques, health, social and human sciences, economy, management, law, humanities, languages ​​and the arts. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the national liberation war (1954-1962), the University of Oran was divided into two structures: Oran 1 University - Ahmed Ben Bella [ archive ] (Es-Sénia University) and Oran 2 University - Ahmed Benahmed [ archive ] (Belgaïd University Pole).
