Founded in 1998, Université du Sahel (University of the Sahel) is a for-profit private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Dakar. Officially recognized by the Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche, Senegal (Ministry of Higher Education and Research of Senegal), Université du Sahel (UNIS) is a very small coeducational Senegalese higher education institution. Université du Sahel (UNIS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 22 years old Senegalese higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades.
